Born in Moçambique in 1946. He graduated in Painting from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa, having since carried out artistic activities in the area of engraving and painting. 
Expotilde ;and individually and collectively, having participated in the Amadora Engraving Biennial, the «1er Prix 'Contrast' de l'Estampe Original» (Switzerland), the «Estampa» (Madrid) and «Le Mois de l'Estampe à; Paris», among others. He founded, in 1999, together with eight engravers, the Água-Forte Engraving Association, with the main objective of making and disseminating Engraving. The promotion of the exchange of experiences between national and foreign artists, the dissemination and promotion of engravers and the holding of workshops are some of the activities in which has been involved as a member of the Association. It is represented in the collections of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Amadora Municipal Council, the Municipal Museum of Santiago do Cacém and from the Antônio Prates Foundation. He has engravings published by the Cooperative of Portuguese Engravers and the Portuguese Screen Printing Center.
