Leandro Figueiredo was born in São Paulo and moved to Rio de Janeiro at the age of 10. He grew up in an artistic family, always immersed in a cultural environment, and from an early age learned to play the piano, drums, and draw.
In 1998, he earned a degree in Design from PUC-RJ and began working as a designer. In 2011, he turned his focus to painting and drawing. His first exhibition took place in 2012 at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, followed by a show in London. In 2014, he exhibited at Game of the Arts in Brazil, and in 2016, he opened his first solo exhibition at the Palácio Tiradentes in Rio de Janeiro.
An entrepreneur active in creative education, he is the founder of several community art projects. The traveling exhibition “A New Blooming of Love” originated from a project with the Galeria Lourdes, on Madeira Island. It aimed to involve young people, including those with autism spectrum disorders, to promote social inclusion and raise funds to support institutions that assist them.
Leandro Figueiredo's work is marked by very distinctive shapes and characters, with simple and expressive lines. He portrays everyday situations with humor, using contrasts between lines and shadows (created with graphite pencil, dry pastel, and oil), and makes strong use of vibrant colors in acrylic paint.
Since 2019, he has been living between Portugal and Brazil.
