George David Charman was born in London in 1983. He completed a BA in Sculpture at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, Farnham Surrey, (2002-05), and a BA in Engraving at the Royal College of Art, London ( 2006-08). He has won several awards, including the Tim Mara Printing Prize, the Helen Chadwick Prize, the Royal Academy British Institut Prize, and most recently the 2nd. Jerwood Drawing Prize.

He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in the United Kingdom, USA, Germany, Portugal.
