Flávia Pinto is originally from Sesimbra, but has always looked with curiosity at the limits of his land. At the age of 18, he left the Portuguese sun to explore new horizons. He lived for a year in Germany where he developed the themes of sustainability and spirituality. He studied Drawing in Falmouth, England, a discipline he uses to explore social and environmental projects. Sail Against Plastic was the perfect culmination of her degree. Part of a multidisciplinary and multigenerational team, he boarded a sailboat in Longyearbyen, one of the northernmost communities in the world. Here he visually reported plastics in the Arctic Glacier Ocean and took the first steps towards his dream of uniting Art and Science in a way recognized by the communities around him.
