Visual artist and researcher, he was born in Lisbon in 1961. He devoted a long period to painting constructed objects and painting on cut supports. In recent years he has been developing work in Drawing as well as Photography. He was represented by Galeria Novo-Século, in Lisbon.

With a postdoctoral degree in Drawing, FBAUL, a Doctorate in Drawing, FBAUL, a Master in Art Theories, FBAUL and a degree in Painting, ESBAL, Caseirão's work is divided between drawing and photography, as he uses the camera as a a medium, his work having a transversal character, embracing drawing, painting, sculpture and installation. He was a scenographer for Rádio Televisão Portuguesa and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, in the discipline of Drawing.
